Terms of Service
By using CodeKent ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
CodeKent provides free, browser-based developer tools including JSON formatters, encoders, SQL utilities, security tools, and more. The Service is provided free of charge and without registration.
2. Acceptable Use
You may use CodeKent for any lawful purpose. You agree not to:
- Use the Service to process, transmit, or store data in violation of any applicable law or third-party rights
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically download the Service's content or codebase
- Use automated bots or scripts to place excessive load on our servers
- Use tools (such as the password generator or key generator) for malicious, criminal, or harmful purposes
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or infrastructure
- Misrepresent the output of any tool (e.g. presenting AI-generated test data as real data)
3. Your Data
All tool processing happens in your browser. We do not receive, store, or process any data you enter into our tools. You are solely responsible for the data you choose to process using the Service.
Do not enter sensitive production data (real passwords, private keys, customer PII) into any web-based tool, including CodeKent. While your data does not leave your browser when using our tools, good security practice is to use test data only.
4. Intellectual Property
The CodeKent name, logo, design, and code are the property of CodeKent. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works of the Service without written permission.
The output generated by CodeKent tools (formatted code, generated passwords, converted data) is yours to use freely with no restrictions.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results will be accurate for all inputs. Use tool output at your own risk — always verify critical outputs.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CodeKent shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service — including data loss, service interruption, or errors in tool output.
7. Third-Party Services
Some tools use third-party public APIs. CodeKent is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or privacy practices of those services.
8. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect changes. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of the jurisdiction where CodeKent operates.
