Privacy Policy
CodeKent ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. The short version: we collect almost nothing, and we never sell your data.
1. Information We Collect
Data you enter into tools
All tool processing happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Data you paste or type into any CodeKent tool — JSON, passwords, code, SQL, etc. — is never sent to our servers. It stays on your device only.
Usage analytics
We may collect anonymised, aggregated usage statistics (page views, which tools are used most) using privacy-friendly analytics. This data contains no personally identifiable information and cannot be traced back to any individual user.
Server logs
Like all web servers, ours automatically logs standard request information: IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. These logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging purposes only.
Contact form
If you send us a message via the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message content solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list.
2. Cookies
CodeKent uses only one functional cookie: your theme preference (dark or light mode), stored in localStorage. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.
3. Third-Party Services
Some tools use public APIs to fetch data (for example, DNS lookup uses Google's public DNS-over-HTTPS API, IP geolocation uses ipapi.co). When you use these tools, your request is sent to those third-party services. Please review their respective privacy policies.
We load fonts from Google Fonts. Google may log the font request, which includes your IP address. See Google's Privacy Policy.
4. Data Retention
We do not store any user-generated content. Server access logs are deleted after 30 days. Contact form messages are retained only as long as needed to resolve your enquiry, then deleted.
5. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including access, rectification, erasure, and objection to processing of personal data. Since we collect minimal data, most requests can be fulfilled simply by clearing your browser storage. For server log data, contact us and we will assist within 30 days.
6. Children's Privacy
CodeKent does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of CodeKent after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
